About the Role
NHS Lothian is looking for a dedicated Domestic Assistant to provide essential cleaning and domestic services across clinical and non-clinical areas at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People.
You will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment that supports patient care and helps prevent the spread of infection.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean clinical and non-clinical areas to NHS standards.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations.
- Meet National Cleaning Services Specification requirements.
- Support Audit Scotland and Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) standards.
- Use cleaning equipment and approved cleaning products safely.
- Help create a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Working Pattern

Please note: Salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis due to the part-time hours.
PVG Requirement
This position requires PVG Scheme Membership. Applicants who are not currently members will be required to complete a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check before starting employment.
