About the Role

As the Lead Cleaner / Supervisor, you will oversee the housekeeping team on Cherwell Ward, ensuring high cleaning standards while supporting patient safety and infection prevention.

You will also supervise staff, coordinate work schedules, manage cleaning supplies, and assist with catering-related housekeeping duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the housekeeping team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic ward environment.
  • Prepare and manage staff rotas.
  • Order cleaning supplies using the Trust’s E-ordering system.
  • Train and induct new housekeeping staff.
  • Maintain cleaning and food safety documentation.
  • Monitor food temperatures when regenerating meals.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards and damaged equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and COSHH regulations.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of COSHH regulations.
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience working within healthcare or mental health settings.
